NSW Decarb Hub
“No one person or piece of technology can solve decarbonisation – it’s a collaborative effort of practical people, resources and tech that will positively empower and impact NSW.” - NSW Decarbonisation Innovation Hub
ABOUT THE HUB
The NSW Decarbonisation Innovation Hub was established in June 2022 with funding from the NSW Office of the Chief Scientist & Engineer and The NSW Environmental Trust, to support the NSW Government’s goal of net zero emissions by 2050 and a 50% reduction on 2005 levels by 2030.
The Decarb Hub aims to foster collaboration, partnerships and projects between industry, research, and government. Working towards net zero, the Decarb Hub supports three specialist Networks to accelerate and attract investment into decarbonisation tech and services projects in NSW. The networks foster collaboration, partnerships and projects between industry, researchers, and government to drive decarbonisation forward in NSW and greater Australia.
The Decarb Hub is co-hosted by the University of Newcastle and UNSW and is supported by leading universities across NSW.
NETWORKS + OBJECTIVES
The Decarb Hub supports three Networks to accelerate and attract investment into decarbonisation tech and services projects in NSW.
Land and Primary Industries Network
Bringing together research, industry, community and government to embed decarbonisation in the next wave of sustainable land practices in NSW.
Accelerating the transition to net zero, with co-benefits for people and nature.
Electrification and Energy Systems Network
Accelerating renewable energy solutions and addressing barriers to the uptake of electrification across the economy.
Powerfuels including Hydrogen Network
A nexus for P2X technologies, supporting the de-risking of powerfuels including hydrogen projects.
A Network of expertise both local and international to address key challenges to commercialising decarbonisation technologies, promoting innovative solutions for clean fuels and chemical value chains.
