The race for green tech in Australia and China
Join The Fifth Estate for a salon-style podcast recorded in front of a live audience and live streamed, with Tim Buckley and Heidi Lee
Join The Fifth Estate for a live podcast recording in an intimate salon environment, enjoy networking and then go upstairs where Maria Atkinson hosts our two speakers and invites the audience to ask some probing questions.
On stage will be:
Tim Buckley has seen first-hand what’s happening in China with its sophisticated green tech agenda and successes so far that outstrip anything the Western world thought possible.
In Australia, Heidi Lee has been at the forefront of advocating in Canberra and the public sphere for Australia’s transition from fossil fuels to viable sustainable and clean tech economy - especially in the regions.
What are the challenges of each of these goals and how can they work with each other for a better global outcome? Is that even possible or is it just wishful thinking?
What are the economic and social challenges of this enormous transition we’ve embarked on?
You can ask Heidi for her views on the government’s Future Made in Australia strategy and if it is as important as we’re led to believe. Perhaps the market will work it all out for itself, and if so, what are the implications on the people who may be left behind?
