Startups & Innovation in the Hunter Valley

As part of the Hunter Innovation Festival, Welcome to Day One presents with support from The University of Newcastle's Integrated Innovation Network (I2N), Hunter Innovation Festival and Hunter iF an expert panel to discuss the topic of Startups & Innovation within the Hunter Valley.

The panel will be covering topics like:

• The challenges of starting up in a regional area.

• Funding and finding access to capital.

• And the current innovation ecosystem and the challenges it is faced with.

The panel and discussion will start at 1 pm and run for approximately 1 hour. Followed by an opportunity to network after the event.

• Alan "The Nice One" Jones. Entrepreneur in Residence, investor, tech entrepreneur and mentor, Alan has advised hundreds of Australian startups and invested in many of the best.
• Justin Hales, the CEO of Camplify. Camplify is like the Airbnb of caravans.
• Heath Raftery, the managing director of Newie Ventures. Newie Ventures is an engineering firm building innovative products to solve problems.
• Siobhan Curran, the manager of the University of Newcastle’s Integrated Innovation Network
