Ports and Hazardous Wastes: Challenges, Risks, and Sustainable Solutions

This workshop explores the key challenges associated with hazardous waste management in port environments

April ports crc care

Ports serve as critical hubs for global trade and logistics, but they also pose significant environmental and safety risks due to the handling and disposal of hazardous wastes. This workshop explores the key challenges associated with hazardous waste management in port environments, highlighting regulatory frameworks, risk mitigation strategies, and sustainable waste treatment solutions.

This conference may be used towards continuing professional development points (please check with your certification scheme).

Key Themes:

  • Types and Sources of Hazardous Wastes in ports and maritime industries
  • Environmental and Health Impacts of improper waste disposal
  • Regulatory Compliance and international guidelines for hazardous waste management
  • Best Practices in Waste Handling, Treatment, and Disposal
  • Innovative and Sustainable Solutions for minimizing hazardous waste in ports

Objectives:

By the end of the workshop, participants will:
✅ Understand the complexities of hazardous waste management in port operations
✅ Learn about international regulations and compliance requirements
✅ Explore best practices for waste handling and risk mitigation
✅ Gain insights into sustainable and innovative waste treatment methods

Who Should Attend?

This workshop is designed for port authorities, environmental officers, waste management professionals, maritime industry stakeholders, and researchers interested in developing effective strategies for handling hazardous waste in port settings.
