2019 saw the introduction of Australia’s National Hydrogen Strategy and the emergence of hydrogen as a potential energy source to assist Australia in supporting energy affordability, improving energy system reliability and contributing to long-term emissions reductions.
The development of Australia’s hydrogen resources could enhance Australia's energy security, create Australian jobs and build an export industry valued in the billions. Australia has the pieces needed to create this new industry and supply clean hydrogen to the world - the energy resources, expertise, and infrastructure.
Welcoming experts from government and industry, this event will examine:
- Australian prospects for hydrogen production and removing barriers to industry development;
- Industry development priorities and opportunities, including enhanced engagement with customer countries, market development, and in ensuring safety concerns are addressed; and
- Encouraging business investment in emerging hydrogen technologies and commercialising strengths in hydrogen R&D.
