Thursday, 14 November:

Cowal Gold Mine Site Tour

The tour will include visitors inductions, presentation on Cowal, bus tour to South Dump lookout, paste plant and mill area.

Participants are required to get themselves to and from the West Wyalong car park. A mini bus will then pick them up from the car park at 9:30 and return them there at approx 1pm.

West Wyalong is approx 3 hours from Dubbo or 2 and a half hours drive from Orange.

Time: 9.30am - 1.00pm

Short Course

This short course provides metallurgists and plant managers with a basic understanding of data analytics and tools for processing plant data to benchmark process performance and identify improvement opportunities.

Participants of this short course will be able to gain an introductory understanding of data cleaning and analysis of process data to calculate the stability of various operating units in a mineral processing circuit and calculate performance indicators for mineral processing units.

NSW Central West Minerals Forum

Central and Western NSW is bursting with new projects and increasing activity in the minerals sector. This year's Lachlan Branch event will focus on showcasing the projects in our region and give delegates a unique opportunity to meet and establish new network connections throughout the region.

We will have two keynote speakers:

  • Christopher Greet will be presenting the AusIMM Metallurgical Society Delprat Distinguished Lecture for 2024 titled The perils of conducting plant trials - It's at times like these that a Jim's mowing franchise starts to look good!
  • Peter Fairfield who will be presenting a talk titled Resource Industry Studies – Managing Risk, doing the right work at the right time, where he will share his insights and experiences on Resource Project studies developed from being an operator, study team member and independent reviewer.
