Newcastle Mines Rescue Station site visit
Join Engineers Australia to explore the Newcastle Mines Rescue Station.
The Newcastle Mines Rescue Station is on call 24/7 to respond to any mine emergencies and also as a registered training organisation that delivers safety training to the NSW Coal industry. The site visit will include a tour of the station including the underground gallery, fire gallery, working at heights training areas and response vehicles and equipment. There will also be an opportunity for each participant to try the virtual reality headsets.
Learning outcomes
- Overview of the capability of NSW Mines Rescue response and equipment.
- Understand the types of training that is undertaken at NMRS.
- Virtual look at an underground coal mine and open cut.

- 12.30 pm AEST: Arrival to site visit
- 1.00 pm AEST: Site visit commences
- 3.00 pm AEST: site visit concludes
PPE: Long pants and enclosed shoes must be worn.
