Hunter Business Women in Mining
You’re invited to the annual International Womens Day take-over of the Business Hunter Mining Lunch to focus on the achievements of women in the mining industry. Running in alignment with the theme of the IWD movement, 2022 is the year to #BreaktheBias
Keeping with this theme Business Hunter has secured presentations by two of the Hunter region’s leading women in mining, Barbara Crossley, founder of the highly successful Umwelt Environmental Consulting firm, preceded by more than two decades in the mining and resources sector, and Katie Brassil who made her well-earned way into retirement from more than 15 years working as a senior member of the Centennial Coal team.
The event will feature keynotes from both women on their career journeys and overcoming bias in a sector that has been heavily male-dominated. They will also impart some insight into new career opportunities for women in the mining and resources sector in a period of great transition, challenge and opportunity. The afternoon will include a fireside chat facilitated by Suzy Miller, leadership development expert and esteemed woman in business in her own right. You won’t want to miss what is sure to be an excellent examination of gender bias and achievement in spite of heads butting up against and eventually crashing through the glass ceiling.
