Renew Illawarra Branch invites you to their 21st November seminar at 6.30pm, with special presentations by Associate Professor Michelle Voyer and marine ecologist, Phebe Fidge.
Associate Professor Michelle Voyer is a Principal Research Fellow with the Australian National Centre for Ocean Resources and Security (ANCORS) and the inaugural Keira Endowed Chair in Energy Futures at the University of Wollongong.
Michelle investigates the governance challenges associated with the ‘Blue Economy’, with a particular focus on exploring opportunities for community and Indigenous input, engagement and codesign in emerging and established maritime industries.
Phebe is a marine ecologist passionate about repairing nature and mitigating the effects of climate change. She has over five years of experience in environmental education and science communications with an Honours degree in ecology and conservation biology from the University of Queensland.
Recently, her work on offshore wind development was featured in Renew Economy. She advocates for systems thinking to ensure all components of Illawarra’s complex and unique coastal system are considered and accounted for.
