ASEAN export opportunities workshop
Investment NSW is delighted to invite NSW companies to a free in person workshop designed to help them better understand export opportunities in the ASEAN region.
The workshop will feature a group of NSW companies that have successfully scaled into ASEAN markets and provide key information and insights for businesses looking to develop or expand their ASEAN export footprint.
NSW companies have the opportunity to capitalise on geographical proximity to these key markets, which will only continue to grow over the next five years.
Key Highlights
- The Hon. Anoulack Chanthivong, NSW Minister for Industry and Trade, will provide opening remarks
- Andrew Parker, Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner, ASEAN will give an overview of opportunities in ASEAN and NSW Government support available for NSW businesses entering these markets
- Dianne Tipping, Export Council of Australia, will host a panel discussion with current NSW exporters to ASEAN covering key challenges, ‘must know’ and the importance of having an export plan
- NSW businesses successfully exporting into ASEAN will share insights from their market selection, market entry strategies and key lessons learnt

Speakers
Andrew Parker, Senior Trade & Investment Commissioner, ASEAN
Andrew has over 35 years of experience in international business. He has lived and worked in Sydney, London, Moscow, Jakarta and Singapore. Prior to joining Investment NSW, Andrew was a Partner in the Deals business at PwC where he also led the Asia Practice of PwC Australia. He is a non-executive director of the Australia-Indonesia Centre at Monash University and China Matters, a member of the Advisory Boards of the Asia Society and the Cross Sector Partnerships Development Initiative (XSPI). He has served as a New Colombo Plan Business Champion since 2017 and was a member of the Business Council of Australia / Asia Society Asia Taskforce and is a member of The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade's Southeast Asia Economic Strategy Reference Group.
Dianne Tipping, Chair, Export Council of Australia
Dianne has enjoyed a long and varied career in international trade promotion and facilitation. Dianne has been Chair of the Export Council of Australia for 8 years. She is a commercially astute senior leader with a proven track record within the trade community. With over 40 years’ experience and a background in both business ownership and project management of greenfield projects, Dianne is helping guide the growth of Australian trade by serving on several Boards and sharing critical knowledge and insights. Dianne is involved with many public and private organisations dedicated to the betterment of international trade as well as a participant on numerous Government and Non-Government Committees including the ABF Customs Advisory Board, Department of Home Affairs’ National Committee on Trade Facilitation, and the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry Cargo Consultative Committee.
