The NSW Government’s Regional Investment Activation Fund will provide $110 million for important collaboration projects in regional NSW, that will provide catalytic outcomes across priority precincts and industries.

And industry collaboration is alive and well in regional NSW, with benefits realised across financial, capital and market competitiveness. One recent example highlighting the collective power of partnerships is the establishment of Circular Plastics Australia at the Albury NEXUS Regional Job Precinct.

A joint venture between Cleanaway, Pact Group, Asahi Beverages and Coca-Cola Europacific Partners, Circular Plastics has built Australia’s largest PET plastic recycling facility. The facility commenced operations in December 2021 and will process the equivalent of around 1 billion bottles each year to produce over 20,000 tonnes of new recycled PET bottles and food packaging.

“Regional NSW offers endless opportunities to generate and drive economic activity”, said David Clancy, Cleanaway’s General Manager for NSW, “All the right settings are there for large investment in regional NSW”.

The fund is now open, with Stream 1 closing on 14 November.
