The Australian Agri-Renewables Innovation Challenge is an opportunity for energy professionals to make a real difference in the agricultural sector. By developing and commercializing innovative solutions, innovators can help farmers reduce their energy costs and emissions, and contribute to a more sustainable food system.

Focused on three key areas: energy, chemicals and fertilizers, and agricultural waste and residues, the challenge is a collaborative effort between Food Agility, Charles Sturt University, and RACE for 2030 CRC.

"We're calling on innovators to enter the challenge so we can test and scale-up their agri-renewable solutions," said Steve Summerhayes, Director of the Renewables in Agriculture Centre of Excellence.

The challenge offers a unique opportunity for innovators to test and refine their ideas in a real-world setting. The Renewables in Agriculture Centre of Excellence and the Global Digital Farm will provide access to feedstock, subject matter experts, lab facilities, and support to help innovators develop and commercialize their solutions.

The centre is a state-of-the-art facility that allows innovators to test and validate their ideas in a controlled environment. The centre is equipped with the latest technology and equipment, including solar panels, wind turbines, and bioenergy systems.

"We want to unlock the potential of renewables in agriculture to power regional economies and support food security, productivity, resilience, and sustainability," said Summerhayes.

The challenge is open to technology and service providers, and applications are now open until October 11. A panel of expert judges will review submissions, and successful challengers will be announced at the Digital Agrifood Summit in October.
