NOPSEMA and NOPTA reviews underway
Effective operation and future capabilities of regulatory bodies to go under the microscope
The federal Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources have begun reviews of the National Offshore Petroleum Safety and Environmental Management Authority (NOPSEMA) and the National Offshore Petroleum Titles Administrator (NOPTA).
NOPSEMA and NOPTA have operated in their current form since 2012, and it has been 5 years since their last reviews.
The reviews come at a time of considerable change in Australia’s oil and gas industry. This is an opportunity to consider whether the key institutions that regulate and oversee the industry are operating effectively and are equipped to deal with future challenges.
The Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources are currently seeking independent consultants to conduct each review.
You can:
- Submit a tender via AusTender by 11 May for the NOPSEMA or NOPTA review.
