Call for Seed Grant Applications - Electrification and Energy Systems
Applications are now open for Electrification and Energy Systems Seed Grants to support projects of up to 18 months.
The NSW Decarbonisation Innovation Hub was established in June 2022 to support the NSW Government's targets to reduce emissions by 50% by 2030 and achieve net zero emissions by 2050. With funding from the NSW Office of the Chief Scientist & Engineer and The NSW Environmental Trust, the Decarbonisation Hub aims to facilitate a thriving innovation community, connecting industry with researchers and government to advance emerging decarbonisation technologies and services.
The Electrification and Energy Systems Network (EESN) is one of three networks within the NSW Decarbonisation Innovation Hub. The objective of the network is to help resolve technical, economic, social and environmental challenges in electricity markets and energy systems.
The Electrification & Energy Systems Network (EESN) Seed Grant Scheme (Seed Grant Scheme) has been established to provide an impetus for technological innovation at network universities and the wider eco-system, in the pursuit of developing solutions for widespread deployment of the energy economy in the State of NSW. The seed funding is primarily aimed at technology innovation (Technology Readiness Levels (TRL) 3-5), development, and impact projects at universities and start-ups that typically face challenges in securing funding within competitive schemes run by NSW and Federal Government, due to the maturity level of the innovation. Projects up to a maximum of 18 months in duration may be eligible for seed grants of $50,000-200,000.
For more information on the Grant Scheme, an online information session will be run 12- 12.45pm on Friday 2nd August. Alternatively, more information can be found on The NSW Decarbonisation Innovation Hub webpage, or by contacting info@decarbhub.au
