Apply now for EnergyLab's 2025 Energy Scaleup Program
The free virtual program running from May to November program offers a unique opportunity for startups to connect with key players in the sector
EnergyLab is Australia’s largest climate tech startup accelerator and innovation ecosystem dedicated to reaching net zero emissions. They are inviting applications for their 2025 Scaleup Program, a free initiative designed to help later-stage energy startups collaborate with Australian energy companies. The program aims to facilitate partnerships that support the decarbonisation of the energy sector through the rollout of innovative technologies.
Applications are open until 10 February 2025, with the program running virtually from May to September. Participating startups will gain access to industry decision-makers, investors, and experienced mentors, along with opportunities for business development and public exposure.
The 2025 intake will focus on areas such as substation and transmission line construction, network connections, electrical network design, advanced analytics, vegetation management, smart charging infrastructure, SF6 leakage reduction, asset integration, and field operations. EnergyLab is particularly interested in startups with pilot or production-ready solutions and welcomes applications from international companies looking to expand into Australia and New Zealand.
The program is structured into three modules:
- May 2025: Participants will connect with alumni and industry regulators, including the Australian Energy Regulator (AER), Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO), Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA), and Australian Energy Market Commission (AEMC).
- June 2025: Startups will receive industry briefings from distribution and transmission network service providers, retailers, and renewable energy developers, followed by one-on-one meetings to explore commercial opportunities.
- August 2025: The final module includes networking with mentors, introductions to a broader range of industry partners, and discussions with Australian climate investors.
Three public-facing events are also planned:
- July 2025 – Industry Case-Study Event: Startups will present real-world case studies to industry participants.
- September 2025 – Climate Investor Pitch Event: A chance to pitch to leading climate tech investors.
- September 2025 – Public Showcase Event: A final event providing exposure to energy companies, investors, and the broader EnergyLab community.
Participants will also have ongoing access to EnergyLab’s mentor network and alumni community after completing the program.

- Program runs: 19 May – 15 September 2025 (exact module dates to be confirmed)
